The Government department client has long used Mozaic to support IT Operating model assessment and change from its original work in 2013.  This initial work created the foundation for subsequent design and transformation delivery over time. 

 

The early success resulted in future work expanding agile beyond pure digital services to integrate with traditional services.

The Challenge

Overcoming Legacy Dependencies and Inflexible Delivery

Originally, the client environment was dependent on a small number of incumbent suppliers and was inflexible to change. Creating a design and transformation capability to incrementally improve that position over time took years to deliver across the complexity and breadth of the client and resulted in the need for and continued improvement of an integrated Service Management capability.

 

Laterally, the issue has been how to continue that process of improvement, continuing to shift the organisation to a more flexible, product based delivery.

Original assessment of the overall IT Operating model based on Mozaic’s well proven functional assessment model created a foundation for subsequent design and delivery.

 

The assessment of the supplier landscape and then the design for a disaggregated set of re-negotiated 3rd party supplier contracts created the framework of a multi-year transformation activity to deliver client value.

 

The focus on integrated Service Management introduced flexibility of supply but also the need for improved tooling support which Mozaic supported the client to deliver. 

 

Later activity to continue to refine the client environment and address Policing needs and the need to be more Product aligned, working with broader government functions led to additional work early to assess and plan for Product adoption.

The early IT Operating model created the foundation for the client transformation delivery through to later and subsequently the early stage Product centricity assessments. 

 

Consequently, Mozaic understands the client environment and estate and breadth of activity.  Understanding the people from over 10 years interactions allows us to independently look at proposals and balance good industry practice in determining the best path forward.
