Mozaic was commissioned by the Chief People & Technology Officer of a global facilities management services company to support a major IT cost optimisation transformation programme. Our focus was on sourcing savings and operating model optimisation opportunities.
We provided an experienced IT Transformation Director, working directly with the CPTO and alongside the Group CIO, as well as a skilled operating model and sourcing savings project team.
The Challenge
Defining the IT Cost Optimisation Challenge
A client had previously explored a portfolio of potential IT savings opportunities from an external consultancy, based on market data. The company sought support in identifying practical ways to realise these savings, particularly across its extensive supply chain. At the same time, opportunities to enhance a complex global IT operating model, spanning HQ and 23 countries, were also identified.
We worked closely with the Group CIO and Transformation Programme leaders to understand the current landscape and identify sourcing savings and operating model optimisation opportunities. Following a detailed analysis of supplier contracts and the broader IT operating model, we engaged regularly with the HQ IT leadership team, IT SMEs, and selected Country CIOs to clarify supply chain usage and validate operating model pain points.
In addition to supporting immediate steps to achieve in-year savings, we leveraged our accelerators and expertise to develop an RFP plan and deliver comprehensive RFP materials, enabling the company to go to market and procure low-cost offshore partners.
